Samsung’s Galaxy S II smartphone will be coming to the States, in 3 different forms – one for each of the major US mobile service carriers.
The stuff “under the hood” remains the same – 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB RAM with 16GB additional flash storage and running Android 2.3 Gingerbread – but the 3 new Galaxy’s will all have a individual characteristics to divide what their providers have in store.
First up, Sprint will deliver the “Samsung Galaxy SII Epic 4G”. Ooking to make a big impression this variant will come with 4.52” AMOLED display, and Samsung-made Exynos processor onboard. Sprint will be racing this one out ahead of the other runners on September 16th.
AT&T offer a Samsung Galaxy S II with 4.3” AMOLED display, like the one currently in use in the UK, this as well as a home button that’s built into the handset – rather than included on the touchscreen. AT&T’s Galaxy will be hitting the streets on September 18th.
T-Mobile hasn’t yet revealed a date to expect its own Galaxy S II model to drop, but from what we know the model will be named “Samsung Galaxy S II on T-Mobile” (of course) and will also come with the larger 4.52” AMOLED screen and a curved edge appearance.
All models on the three US carriers will also feature “ultra-thin form”, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 8-megapixel rear shooter allowing for 1080p HD video recording – as well as cutting edge 4G connectivity.
