Samsung are Building the First Windows 8 Tablet

We’ve got two pieces of juicy Windows 8 related information to bring you today. Firstly, we have learnt that Microsoft are preparing to show off the first ever Windows 8 Tablet at their BUILD developer conference next week.

Secondly, the first ever Windows 8 Tablet will be manufactured by none other than Samsung.

After securing an exclusive deal to produce the second and third Google-branded Nexus smartphones, it would appear Samsung has secured yet another exclusive deal with Microsoft to manufacture the first Windows 8-based Tablet.

WinRumours reports that Windows chief Steven Sinofsky will give a keynote speech next Tuesday at the Microsoft BUILD developer conference to unveil Windows 8 working on a Tablet computer, manufactured by Samsung.

We also expect to hear more details on Windows 8 including information on Windows Server 8 at the conference, which takes place between September 13th and 16th.

WinRumours quotes a source familiar with Microsoft’s plans, who says Microsoft are planning to hand out Windows 8 Tablets to each attendee at the BUILD conference. Google previously did the same thing at their I/O conference earlier this year, choosing to hand out customised Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 devices.

The same source confirms that the Windows 8 Tablet will be powered by an ARM processor and include specific hardware advances specifically designed for the new OS.
