Virgin Media has outted an affordable little number to suit anyone’s budget. The VM560 is created by Alcatel and is part of the ‘One Touch’ range and brings the price of owning a socially-enabled mobile down to only £9.99.
Add an initial £10 top-up and this Pay As You Go mobile is still comes in at just under £20 and includes some quite tidy features. For music you get an in-built MP3 player and FM radio, 2-megapixel camera, WiFi connection and MicroSD support up to a respectable 8GB.
There’s some added bonus for regular topper-uppers, with Virgin Media providing 300 free texts with a £10 monthly credit boost, or spending just £15 will raise the rewards to unlimited texts for the month. Calls on the tariff will cost 26-pence per minute.
For existing Virgin customers paying for a monthly television or broadband service the free unlimited texts on the VM560 become available on the £10 top-up fee.
This one’s ideal for younger phone users and those heading back to school around this time, also a handy gadget for technophobes.
There’s no sophisticated Android operating system here, but all basic functions are easily accessible from a simplistic home screen with the top social networks Facebook and Twitter tied in.
You can order the Virgin Media / Alcatel VM560 now in a choice of Black or Chrome, with Pink on the way on September 19th.
