The Samsung manufactured Google Nexus Prime, or otherwise known as the next flagship Android smartphone, is looking one step closer to an actual release as it has finally received full Bluetooth Certification.
The i9250 Samsung-made handset will be Google’s third Nexus own-branded Android smartphone and as with the other two Nexus handsets previously (the Nexus S and Nexus One), the phones will be used as the first place to get the latest Android OS in its purest form.
The Nexus Prime will come sporting the latest version of the Google Android OS in the form of Ice Cream Sandwich. It will also sport the latest in top of the range specs for a smartphone, including a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, a 4.6-inch screen with 1280×720 HD resolution and the possibility of no physical “press” buttons at all – just touch keys.
The Bluetooth certification was made by the phone’s manufacturer Samsung, who used the phone’s GT i9250 code name when doing so. The process is normally something that is done a few weeks before the handset is released, as it is seen as a simple thing to pass, so the Nexus Prime could be a mere few weeks away with the Ice Cream Sandwich software to come with it.
With a suspected release schedule of the first week of November, the Google Nexus Prime could land smack bang in the middle of the new Apple iPhone release schedule or just a little afterwards, so it will be interesting to see if the handset gets swept up in the inevitable iPhone fever!
All we know is that with a 1.5GHz processor and an amazing screen, the Google Nexus Prime is a winner in our hearts even before we have been fully told of all the specs and features.
