Adobe has announced it will be launching a version of Photoshop in app package form for both major portable OS platforms – Android and iOS, bringing a simplified version of the top-used desktop photo editing software to tablet.
And just like your desk PC version the lightweight Photoshop Touch will make it easy to manage all your files types from your tablet, live images from the built-in camera or from social network accounts for editing within the software, which from what Adobe say will be not that far off from the full fat edition. Bringing with it core features of Photoshop main, including all the familiar layers, selection tools, adjustments, and filters. Photoshop Touch also connects to the social web to quickly and easily share your creations and edits with pals.
Using a stylus or a delicate touch any photo can be edited, and there’s a fun paint pallet style feature which allows you to mix your own colours without getting your fingers covered!
The new optimized-for-tablet Photoshop app will also provide tutorials for newbies – and also for those old hands who need a little guidance adapting on the new platform. To make the transtion even easier Adobe will be hosting a live Twitter Q&A session prior to the apps launch.
Adobe Photoshop Touch app package will become available through the Android Market and Apple App Store in November costing $9.99 in the United States.
