Americans are only just getting to grips with the amazing Samsung Galaxy S2, but we’re already hearing whispers of what you can expect from the 2012 model – as a mysterious slide turns up potentially leaking the specs.
The slide was uncovered by Phandroid and appears to show the full specs of the new phone as well as few errors, too. However, it’s not the first time where mistakes have been found on internal documents that have turned out to be real.
From the details on the document, the Galaxy S3 will come with a giant 4.6-inch AMOLED Plus HD screen, a whopping 12-megapixel camera and a dual-core (not quad) Exynos 1.8Ghz 4212 processor.
The new chip offers a 25% performance boost over the last-gen Exynos used in the Galaxy S II, while simultaneously providing a 30% reduction in power consumption.
Other features for the yet-to-be-announced phone suggest it will be sporting a NFC chip. NFC is a bit like Bluetooth – a wireless connection – which will allow the phone to communicate with other NFC devices without a physical connection.
Apparently Samsung will move the design away from the current and contensious design of the S1 and S2 – so as to avoid any further legal complications with you know who.
The tipster also reckons that the Galaxy S3 will arrive running Android Ice Cream Sandwich, which was scheduled to launch on October 11 with the Nexus Prime or Galaxy Nexus from Google and Samsung.
It’s expected to have gone on a diet too, with the leakster suggesting that the phone will be thinner and lighter that the s2. Throw in 4G support and it’s shaping up to be something quite special.
Now we must say that there are a couple of mistakes with regards to this slide, it mentions the S2 and gets the processor name wrong – so we could be looking at a crafty, all be it sloppy, photoshop job.
But as specs go – it’s not too ridiculous to believe in it – while it’s far from being confirmed, but to our keenly trained eye it looks spot on.
