Nokia has hit the ground running this morning at Nokia World in London. Having just announced their first Windows Phone, the Lumia 800, the Finnish company has announced another from their Windows Phone portfolio, the Lumia 710.
Aimed at those who want a smartphone and to get online on a budget, the Lumia brings all the functionality of the latest Windows Phone 7.5 software in a colourful package.
The Lumia 710 will be available in black or white, with bright coloured exchangeable back covers available to spice up the phone. These covers will be available in black, white, cyan, fuchsia and yellow.
Nokia has created the Lumia 710 to be cheap but ideal for social networking and sharing. SIM-Free the phone should cost around £235, which is very reasonable indeed. Inside, the phone actually features the same 1.4GHz processor as the more expensive Nokia Lumia 800 that was just announced.
The 710 also has 512MB of RAM and a decent 8GB of storage space for media, which can be expanded using a Micro SD card.
On the back there is a 5-Megapixel camera with LED flash, though like the Lumia 800, there isn’t a front-facing camera on the device, so no video calling.
For those who have been keeping up with Nokia leaks over the past month, you may have noticed that this phone shares a style with a phone we recently found leaked online. The Nokia ‘Sabre’ that was pictured lying on a desk just last week is actually this phone, the Lumia 710.
Battery life is 400 hours on standby, 6.9 hours of GSM call time and 38 hours of music playback.
The Nokia Lumia 710 won’t be hitting shelves until early 2012, though if you’ve got a need for Nokia and Windows Phone 7.5, you could always check out the Lumia 800 which will be out next month.
What do you think of the Nokia Lumia 710? More or less to your taste than the Lumia 800?
