Acer Let Slip a HD Resolution Tablet Running Nvidia Tegra 3 Chipset

  • by

With the release of Nvidia’s Tegra 3 quad-core chipset, it looks like the tablet world is about to be turned on its head.

All of a sudden we have different manufacturers announcing Tegra 3 devices that will be running Google’s new Ice Cream Sandwich OS. Well, after Acer let slip the ICS devices the a510 and the a511 it looks like they are letting a beast out of the closet.

The A700 and A701, found by Notebook Italia, were listed on Acer’s support site, and the listing is in fact still there at the time of writing. The main features are Nvidia’s Tegra 3 chipset and an impressive 1920×1200 display resolution.  Yes that’s right a full HD resolution tablet device.

Don’t forget the resolution of 1920×1200 is going to be on a device that is more than likely not going to be over 10 inches big. That is a very high quality resolution for the size of the screen.

After a quick search I am not able to find any manufacturers making a display of that size and resolution at present, so the manufacturer of the screen panel is still unknown.

I’m sure we will hear more about  the A700 and A701 in the near future and as always here at The Gadget Helpline we will keep our ears to the ground and bring you the latest updates as soon as we have them.
