Social networks are the modern person’s world, we use them to communicate with everyone -friends, family you name it, you are likely to have them as a Facebook friend.
Let’s not forget things like Twitter, where you can cyber-stalk your favorite celebrities or friends and find out what they are doing on an hourly basis almost.
A little while back Skype decided they wanted a little piece of that action and joined forces with Facebook, bringing your Facebook news feed live to your Skype application without having to log into both.
This was brilliant, but now Skype have gone one better as there is now a new beta application available for Mac and PC that will allow you to video call all your Facebook friends who have the Skype application too.
Its ingenious, and is a way that we can all talk to the hundreds of Facebook friends we don’t know face to face. On a more serious note it is a brilliant idea; now we will only need one contact for Facebook and those who we want to Skype, now that is something that will suit me down to a tee.
So how much further can Skype and Facebook take this partnership? Will they eventually merge and become a super FaceSkype? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure Facebook is the king of social networking, so when Skype decided who they wanted to partner with them, they knew exactly what they were doing.
