O2 has confirmed a release date for its UK stocks of Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phones. The UK network is one of those sadly trailing in the launch of the much-anticipated handset which features Microsoft’s mobile update ‘Mango’. No thanks to O2’s website we now know that mobile shoppers will be able to grab the Lumia 800 from O2 on December 9th.
The Lumia 800 continues to elude O2 faithful until next Friday, when customers can enjoy upgrading to the 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM with 16GB storage and connectivity to SkyDrive and the updated Windows Phone OS which is presented on a 3.7” 800 x 480 resolution WVGA display.
The former Nokia Sea Ray, Lumia 800, was launched on November 16th and just celebrated its UK sell out opening week with a music and light performance by Canadian DJ DeadMau5 in London a few days ago. O2 join Vodafone in not yet making supplies available and rival networks such as Three have been cashing in on the hesitancy, setting it’s stocks free and even prepping to launch a cyan blue variant in the next few weeks.
Unfortunately at this time there’s no price confirmation from O2, so the Gadget Helpline will keep eyes peeled for you and will bring you the latest changes to this story!
