If you happen to own the new Amazon Kindle Fire, no doubt you’ll be pleased with what it has to offer. However, if you’re a gaming fan, you may be finding yourself becoming a bit bored with the selection of games currently on offer on the Android-based tablet device.
If that’s the case, you’ll be pleased to hear this bit of news, in that some clever person has decided to take advantage of the dual-core power available on the Kindle Fire and created an emulator that will allow you to run all your favourite Nintendo 64 games directly on the tablet.
Ok, so Android devices have had emulators aplenty in the past, but this is something new for the Kindle Fire and no doubt the release of this emulator will become a pleasant surprise for the avid gamer, and fans of the old skool Nintendo 64.
From the info that has been obtained at the moment, it would seem that the emulator will be able to play games such as Mario Kart and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina from the off ; with the controls for the emulator having been superimposed over the screen of the Kindle Fire. If you’re interesting in seeing the emulator in action; head on over to the Kotaku website where you can view a video of the emulator doing it’s thing.
