The Firefox fans amongst us may remember that back in the summer, we we’re shown a new version of the Firefox browser designed specifically for Android tablet devices.
Well, since then, Mozilla have been hard at work perfecting the version, and today is the day that it has been released to the Android community. Android Firefox 9.0 is designed to give tablet users a better user experience while browsing, compared with what’s currently offered on the Android Market.
The new version features a much bigger, bolder tabbing system; in addition to new layout options, depending on if you prefer to view the browser in landscape or portrait.
Also included is a new Action Bar menu, allowing you to access your preferences, Add-ons and downloads amongst other things. You’ll also be able to use One-touch bookmarks that will allow you to add a shortcut icon on your Android homescreen that points directly to your favourite websites and/or web apps.
If you happen to be a developer, you’ll be pleased to know that Firefox 9.0 for Android now includes new HTML5 tools, allowing you to create interactive mobile web experiences – for example, there is a HTML5 input tag for camera access for supported devices.

If you fancy giving Firefox 9.0 for Android a go, you can head on over to the Android Market, where it can be downloaded for free.
