Camera manufacturer Nikon have just unveiled their latest cameras – the D800 and D800e. Now, if you like to keep up-to-date on the goings on in the DSLR camera world, you may have already seen pics and detiails about this camera when it was leaked back in November.
If you haven’t, good, as we are going to tell you exactly what you can expect from the D800 and D800e. First off, the recently announced D800 features a 36.3MP (7360 x 4912) FX-format CMOS sensor; which also happens to be the highest resolution sensor that has featured on any Nikon camera thus far.
As you’d probably expect, the Nikon D800 is also capable of recording HD video at 1080p with a frame rate of either 30/25/24p while also recording video in stereo sound. The video recording functionality seems to be a key area that Nikon have focused on as they promise that you will be able to capture broadcast quality video when using the D800. One very useful feature when recording video is the abilty to be able to connect an external recording source via HDMI and simply record RAW video straight to the external source without having to worry about the cameras internal storage.
Other features of the D800 include an impressive ISO range of 100-6400 which is also expandable to 25,600; you can also capture 4 frames per second when in burst mode. The D800 also has an advanced scene recognition system with 91,000 pixel RGB sensor, a EXPEED 3 image processor and also a 3.2-inch 932K LCD
So, if you fancy getting yourself a D800, it will be going on sale in March with a price of around $3,299.95 (around £2,090). I think I should get saving.
