Amidst all the denials that Samsung will be launching anything this month, we’ve been hearing rumours surrounding a possible appearance of a Galaxy-branded super-smartphone/slab crossover at the upcoming Mobile World Congress from February 27th to March 1st – and today that news could very well have been confirmed ahead of the press conferences and trade demos in Barcelona, by way of a big, big blog blunder at Samsung HQ.
A reckless writer for Korean co.’s official blog wrecked the MWC surprise by announcing that a “Galaxy Note 10.1” – presumed to be a 10.1” tablet based on the spec of the recently launched Galaxy Note Android smartphone including HD Super AMOLED and “S Pen” – this to be featured as part of Samsung’s Developer’s Showcase. The blog article reads “a Galaxy Note 10.1 used for education, financial planning, and art” and just to confirm this, the author repeats the title while telling us that the “Galaxy Note 10.1 to record, take pictures and edit”.
Some say typo meaning the blogger could have meant either the Galaxy Tab 10.1 or the Galaxy Note and this may be the response Samsung gives when it hastily sweeps up this mess up, and we expect an official statement to come from the company later today. We like many others hope it’s something a bit juicer than a typo – and expect the Note-worthy news to break at the MWC which starts in less than two weeks, where the tablet may surface alongside the Galaxy Mini 2, but certainly not the Galaxy SIII. No chance, no way..
