HTC are at Mobile World Congress a day early to try and steal a march on the competition with two new handsets – one of them is the HTC One S – a 4.3-inch dual-core mid-range smartphone.
It comes with Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich, a Super AMOLED screen, 1.5Ghz dual-core processor and few new features & tweaks to the standard HTC recipe.
You’ll find plenty of refinement in the UI with some new smart widgets, and there’s also the fruits of HTC’s partnership with Beats and features Beats audio enhancements meaning the One S should be perfect for audiophiles.
The HTC One S comes with an impressive camera packing 8 megapixels with an f-stop 2.0 for improved low light performance. It also promises 1080p high-definition video recording at an impressive 60 frames per second.
Like most HTC’s it won’t win any awards for looks, it’s more functional than a looker. But, there are a couple of different flavours for the One S looks-wise.
You can have the body of phone made with micro arc oxidation (a metal frame in a plasma field that is then electrocuted for a smooth ceramic finish) or a gradient anodisation which you can, apparently, file your nails on if you want.
There’s no word on networks or pricing, but the phone is expected to hit retail in April so it won’t be long until we had more details.
