Canon 5D Mark III Officially Announced

Finally, good news. Canon have officially announced the successor to the extremely popular Canon 5D Mark II.

We have heard many a rumour about this new camera, and it was only a couple of days ago we seen yet more leaked pictures of the new 5D Mark III, along with some leaked information as to what sort of spec the camera is expected to feature.

But now, we can officially reveal exactly what you will be getting with the new Mark III, which has been detailed below.

First of all the Canon 5D Mark III will indeed feature a 22.3 MP full-frame CMOS sensor, along with Canon’s DIGIC 5+imaginging processor. It has also been confirmed that the new Mark III will have an impressive 61 point auto-focus system, also featured is an ISO range of 100 – 25,600 which can be extended to 102,400 if required. When it comes to video recording, the 5D Mark III will be able to capture full 1080p HD content at 30 frames per second, with the addition of a built-in h.264 compression engine. And on the back, you can expect to get a 3.2-inch LCD for reviewing your captured images.

So, if you want to get your hands on the new Canon 5D Mark III, the body alone will set you back $3,500 (around £2,200). Or, if you want to get the 24-105 f/4 zoom lens as part of the package as well this will set you back $4,300 (around £2,700).
