Sony has announced that a SDK (Software Developers Kit) for its Playstation Suite will go live in April, offering devs the chance to tinker with the latest Sony / Android portable gaming platforms including Xperia PLAY smartphone and recently released Tablets S and P.
The widespread launch of the SDK follows a Beta which was made available to a limited number of games makers toward the end of 2011. Seemingly a success story the Beta version will now be up for grabs from next month to anyone with the skill and imagination to create the next wave of app-based Playstation certified games – with a full version set to follow later in the year.
The Sony Playstation Suite is designed as a platform to allow mobile gamers and gamers using Android 2.3 Gingerbread and above on their devices to enjoy downloadable titles which meet Sony Playstation standards. Once a title is publish-worthy and qualifies Sony’s list of criteria it will then be added to the Suite via the Playstation Store online.
