UK network Three has outlined its offers for the new Sony flagship model mobile, the Xperia S.
“The One Plan” contract will start at £36 per month, with a minimum duration of 24 months, and will reward subscribers with a generous 2000 call time minutes, 5000 texts and unlimited data to make the most out of the heavyweight new handset for free. The first singularly branded model from recent divorced former Ericsson partner is also available to buy outright from Three for £369.99, with Pay-As-You-Go fees beginning at £15 per month to gain 300 minutes and 3000 texts with unlimited 3G internet data – and upping this to £25 increases those minutes to 500.
The Sony Xperia S is impressive and one of the major talking points of this year’s CES and MWC, which after a whole bunch of announcements and product launches from a range of global manufacturers, now takes to the exhibition floor – where lucky attendees can now tinker with the latest in the Xperia range with its Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS (presumably upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich on release), on a generous 4.3” display with a super sharp 1280 x 720 resolution.
Sony has opted to not join the quad-core market just yet, so the Xperia S is driven by a high end 1.5GHz dual-core beast of a processor supplied by Qualcomm, with a whopping 1GB of RAM and 32GB storage, which more than makes up for the absence of MicroSD support. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and NFC are thrown in for internet and connectivity features and the Xperia S boasts a 12-megapixel camera with Sony’s Exmor R Sensor and LED Flash, with a video output of 1020p HD.
The Sony Xperia S is available on the Three network from today, with others yet to detail their deals – except of course for Vodafone which has oddly chosen to give this launch a miss.
