HTC One X and One S Get Priced on Contract with Orange, Vodafone and O2

Two of HTC’s forthcoming One range of smartphones are now available to pre-order on contract, with Phones4u offering the One X and One S on Orange, O2 and Vodafone.

The retailer is also giving away HTC’s new MediaLink HD accessory with every pre-order, which is worth £79.99. The MediaLink HD connects to your HDTV and will mirror your HTC phone’s screen wirelessly, allowing you to stream movies, photos and games to the big screen. It also allows you to mirror one app to the TV while viewing another, so for instance you could stream a HD movie to your TV while checking your emails and browsing the web on the phone.

Phones4u will be stocking both the One X and One S on 24 month contracts from Orange, O2 and Vodafone. Naturally, the One X is the pricier of the two, thanks to its incredible specifications list. It boasts a Quad-Core processor, stunning 4.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, 8-Megapixel camera with Full HD video recording and the latest Android 4.0 with HTC Sense 4.0 operating system.

One X

You can pick up the One X for free on all three networks from £36 per month. All networks offer 3000 texts to go with it, although the combination of minutes and data varies. O2 offers the best package with 900 minutes, 3000 texts and 500MB of data for £37 per month, whereas Vodafone offers 600 minutes and 500MB of data for £36pm, and Orange will give you 900 minutes but only 250MB of data.

You can pay less per month, but you’ll then have to pay an up-front cost for the handset. The cheapest monthly payment is with O2 and Vodafone at £26 per month, though both ask £119 as the up-front fee.

One S

The One S is free on contracts from £31 per month with all three networks. You can opt to pay £26 per month with O2 or Vodafone, along with £59.99 up-front for the handset. Orange will ask £79.99 up-front for a £28.50 per month deal. The best option in our eyes is from Vodafone, with 900 minutes, 3000 texts and 500MB of data for £31 per month.

Which will you choose?

The One S comes in on more affordable contracts, offering a Dual-Core processor, the latest Android software, a great 8-Megapixel camera and a super-tough ceramic body. On the other hand, the One X is a real powerhouse with a larger 4.7-inch Super AMOLED screen and Quad-Core processor, coupled with the same Android 4.0 operating system.

These are the first contract prices we’ve seen for the One X and One S, so bear in mind that other retailers such as Carphone Warehouse are yet to show their cards. We’re also awaiting prices from Three and T-Mobile, although we imagine the latter to offer similar contracts to Orange due to their partnership.

Whichever HTC is the One for you, you can pre-order it now from phones4u.co.uk.
