Call of Duty fans listen up! The first official details on the next big game in the series will be revealed on May 1st, so put the date in your calendars.
The official callofduty.com website has been tweaked to now show a big countdown timer which is ticking away until May 1st. We’re told very little except that there will be a ‘World Reveal’ on that day, which will almost definitely be linked to the next title in the series.
That next title is believed to be a sequel to Treyarch’s Black Ops, and will be aptly titled Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. An absolute ton of details were leaked recently through the official Call of Duty forums, letting us in on plenty of secrets about the new title. Everything from perks to killstreaks and map information was leaked early, although the information’s authenticity is yet to be proved.
At the bottom of the countdown banner we see ‘Basketball Playoffs on TNT’ – something that seems slightly out of the ordinary when we’re talking about a shoot-em-up video game. It looks as though the game’s developer Activision plans to launch the world’s first trailer for Black Ops 2 during the playoffs which take place on May 1st on the American TV channel TNT.
Many websites seem to have missed this somehow, but just above the banner is a small fuzzy box. Click this and you’ll see 15 small thumbnails with ‘Classified’ written on them. Each of these will open up to a larger box when clicked, with a message telling you that it will ‘unlock on’ a certain date. We’ve gone through them all and it looks as though new teasers will be revealed on April 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th, along with some others that currently don’t have dates on them – exciting!
One is already unlocked and shows a very fuzzy and tricky to make out image. We’ve put it through an image processor and adjusted all types of levels but we can only make out a green circle and a blue-ish line along the top. What do you think it could be?
