A new rumour relating to a future update for the Xbox 360 Dashboard suggests that we’ll soon be able to monitor and record fitness information as we play those physically active Kinect games.
As you will know, playing most Kinect games such as Kinect Sports and Kinect Star Wars (especially the dance-off mode!) can leave you feeling like you’ve had a good workout, so Microsoft is presumed to be addressing this in a “Kinect Plat Fit” update to be announced in full at the next big date on our gadget calendar, the E3 conference starting June 5th.
Kinect Play Fit is said to work with all of the motion sensing controller’s compatible games and be an optional feature, so you only need use it if you are actually interested in how many calories your gaming habit burns and the new feature will record your exercise levels while playing out favourite games, as well as a heart rate monitoring, wireless tracked with an additional app called “Joule”.
We’ll hopefully be hearing more about this rumour and the future plans for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Kinect at the E3 in June.
