Is Android Causing the Fall of the Apple iPhone?

[tab name=’Feature’]

The iPhone has simply been the most popular phone of the last decade; an emblem of our generation. Its strength lies in Apple’s ability to always stay one step ahead of the competition and it’s even come to be somewhat of a technological pioneer in regards to the standards it continues to set. However, trends will come and go and there is reason to suggest that the iPhone’s may be waning.

The Fall of a Legend

One would be foolish to believe that the iPhone enjoys the same level of market dominance it had with its earlier generations. Rival mobile manufacturers have clocked onto Apple’s secrets and caught up in the smartphone technology race. Of the competitors threatening the iPhone’s grip on the power reins is the Samsung Galaxy S3; an utter, complete beast of a mobile.

The Galaxy S3 not only looks slicker than any of the iPhones, but holds better features, such as a greater RAM capacity at 1GB than any smartphone Apple has produced.

The fact that the Galaxy S3 is also priced some £100 less than both the iPhone 4S and the expected release price of its successor will further turn consumers’ heads when picking Android phone deals.

The upcoming HTC One XXL is also expected to give the iPhone a real run for its money and there is every chance that Apple won’t come out on top this time round.

Internal Competition

The fierceness in the competition facing the iPhone has actually been made even greater, due to a fellow Apple product: the iPad. The iPad practically gives consumers everything that can be found in the iPhone and therefore many potential buyers are reluctant to go for both.

What Goes Up Must Come Down

It is perhaps the repetitiveness of the iPhone release schedule that has possibly made consumers grow rather tired of it. The 4S in particular looked and felt a bit too similar to its predecessor. Of course, it would be just like Apple to come out with a piece of pure technological genius with the upcoming iPhone and completely blow every competitor out of the water. However, what goes up must come down, and if the iPhone is to stay up, the next generation had better be something special.
