Nokia is deep in the midst of its Nokia and Microsoft Nokia World press event at the moment but earlier today the company announced that it will be bringing its Nokia Music feature to its Lumia smartphones in the US for the first time.
Customers in the states with the Nokia Lumia 900 and 710 will be able to download the Nokia Music app that will provide free access to over 150 exclusive playlists from a range of different genres, all provided by Nokia.
The Nokia Music app is a free download on the Marketplace and when downloaded it requires no registration or subscription fee, plus you get a fully advert-free music streaming service.
If you are on the move or in a poor signal area then the Nokia Music App will also provide a playlist download option so you don’t have to rinse your mobile internet or lose out in poor signal areas.
Users can also create their own playlists on the app and use any of the 1 million tracks in the library to create their own listening experience. Many of the other Nokia music features will be there too, such as Gig Finder which will use the GPS technology to search for local and upcoming gigs and performances in the area using the Nokia Places software.
In the UK we have had access to Nokia Music (in its current form) since the release of the Nokia Lumia ranges of phones, and it has been one of the standout features of the Windows Phone 7.5 operating system and its collaboration with Nokia.
Customers in the US with the Lumia 710 and Lumia 900 will be able to download the “Nokia Music” app from the Marketplace from now – although we’re hearing that the app is currently nowhere to be found in the Marketplace!
