Well it appears that ASUS’ on-going fight to get its Transformer range of convertible tablets up to date with the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS is still rolling on, as the company seems to have cheekily announced that the update for the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity and Pad Prime will be coming “very soon”.
ASUS has firstly posted a new of the image of the two Transformer devices online with the Android Jelly Bean droid, adding: “We are pleased to announce that we will soon be rolling out the Android 4.1, Jelly Bean update for both the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700) and ASUS Transformer Pad Prime (TF201).”
Now we were supposed to have been seeing the Jelly Bean updates rolling out across the Transformer range since late July, when the company announced the Jelly Bean OS was coming to its massively popular Transformer range.
But after the posting on the site ASUS then reportedly took to the internet when Gary Key, ASUS’ technical marketing manager, reportedly posted on the XDA-Developers forum to reveal the OS roll-out would be available for US and Canadian users “within the next 72 hours.”
Now some Transformer users in the UK have already seen the new update on their pads so the delay to the US and Canada has been noted by North American fans, but if the XDA-Developers posting is correct then the wait will not be long for Jelly Bean to drop.
When the update does drop ASUS has been fans of doing batched releases in the past so don’t expect a mass download, you may still have to wait a few days!
