With the rumour mill now in full swing it’s getting harder and harder for us (and Apple) to deny that there will be a brand new iPad Mini device coming to our fingertips before the year is out, and with the rumours and leaks flying about, the iPad Mini is now reportedly approaching launch. Whispers indicate that Apple has made a whopping order of 10 million miniature devices ahead of the official launch.
All leaks and rumours are pointing towards an end of the month announcement and release for Apple’s latest device, which places the iPad Mini as a prime “Christmas Desire”and surely the one present under many an Apple fan’s tree.
The information regarding Apple’s mass order has come from component suppliers to Apple in Asia, who have stated that they have been asked to make 10 million units of the smaller tablets in the fourth quarter for Apple.
In the past few weeks we have seen leaked housing and parts for the iPad Mini leak online, and with so much content coming to the surface it is becoming increasingly unlikely that the leaked products could all be fake.
Last week images appeared online from Apple-centric website UkranianiPhone that shared some leaked images of the supposed iPad Mini, which showed that the device was just a shrunken down miniature version of the original iPad.
However, other reports have stated that the iPad Mini will have a much more similar feel to the Apple iPhone 5 with a more industrial look and flat edges. Additionally, the Wall Street Journal reported earlier this month that the iPad Mini will be a much smaller tablet with a 7.85-inch screen, and it has been in production in Asia for the past month or so.
Rumours are circulating that Apple will be announcing the new device as soon as October 17th, but for the company to really get a hold on the market they will need to get the new shrunken down iPad out before the end of October.
Apple currently has the largest share of the tablet market with the Apple iPad holding a share of 65% , but in recent months their grip has loosened slightly as they have seen a rise in competition from Google and Amazon in the form of the Google Nexus 7 and the Amazon Kindle Fire device.
