A future flagship smartphone of Sony’s may have made a very early appearance today, as information has leaked online about a forthcoming Sony XPERIA smartphone which is codenamed “Odin” and is looking set to be the big headline phone for Sony in 2013.
Sony-centric website xperiablog.net has reported that a leaked User-Agent Profile (UAProf) for Sony Mobile’s 2013 flagship, codenamed ‘Odin’, has been discovered. The profile states there are three new Sony Mobile model numbers: C6502, C6503 and C6506 on their way early next year.
Now the close numbering of the handsets could mean that the smartphones are in fact the same handset with either regional or minor changes to differentiate them from each other.
With the handsets holding the XPERIA name, this tells us that the Odin is an Android running smartphone and the UAProf shows that this 2013 flagship is running Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean with 10.1.A.0.XXX firmware.
In this time we can also expect to hear some word from Google on its next Android iteration, which is rumoured to be called Key Lime Pie, but with that seemingly a long way off the device may just settle for Jelly Bean.
This is all to be marked as very far in the future, but with the days drawing in its hard to ignore the fact that 2012 is coming to a close and a new year of tech is waiting for us after the Christmas sales rush!
