HTC Deluxe UK version of J Butterfly leaked press images appear online

Last week news surfaced that the long-rumoured 5-inch HTC Android smartphone known as the HTC J Butterfly would be making its way to the UK under a different guise as the HTC Deluxe (admittedly it’s a slightly more macho name for such a big phone) and now after its name change it would seem that the Deluxe is looking to get itself out there into the world via some leaked images.

The HTC Deluxe will reportedly have a 1.5GHz quad core processor, 2GB of RAM, 4G connectivity plus that 5-inch Full HD 1080p display screen that is the cherry on the bun for the Android smartphone.

The HTC Deluxe is currently under many guises, as the handset is also called the HTC Droid DNA for its US release, with the handset expected to be renamed the HTC Deluxe for a UK and European release.

The phone also launched earlier this year as the HTC J Butterfly in Japan and in the US this week as the HTC Droid DNA for Verizon Wireless. Last week serial leakers @evleaks posted an image of what they claimed to be the worldwide edition of the phone, and today GSMArena has posted an official looking image online of the upcoming phone.

With the leaked image the website is also claiming that the handset will in fact be called the HTC Deluxe DLX, which would indicate that the company are looking to start a new range of handsets similar to its HTC One and Desire ranges.

There is still very little information on when the smartphone will be released in the UK and Europe but with the Christmas period hot on our heels and we can’t see HTC launching the phone in 2012. It could however be a release for the CES 2013 event that will be taking place in January.

From the images we can see that the phone will be available in white, brown and black – which would you choose?
