Virgin has announced its plans to stock the latest Android flagship smartphone, the Google Nexus 4, on its network today, which provides another way of getting your hands on the smartphone after months of stock issues from the Google Play Store.
At the Gadget Helpline we were lucky enough to get our hands on the coveted Jelly Bean smartphone, but we too were subjected to a lengthy wait with several delays before we actually got our hands on the phone. You can check out our hints and tips on the Google Nexus 4 here.
Virgin will be offering the Nexus 4 on a range of two-year contracts where users can opt to pay smaller up-front fees for the smartphone or for the higher end contracts where users can get the handset for free in exchange for a larger monthly bill.
Virgin’s tariffs start at £31 including a Nexus 4 for free which comes with 500MB of data per month, or you can upgrade to the unlimited data tariff for just £3 more per month and take full advantage of the handset’s speedy connectivity, but you will have to fork out £100 outright for the handset.
The phone, which is manufactured by LG, has been one of our favourite smartphones of the last few months, with its Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, Qualcomm S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, 8-megapixel camera and 4.7-inch 720p HD display all for the bargain price of £240 for the 8GB version.
There have been many issues with the stocking of the LG-made handset which Google is mainly attributing to LG’s production of the screens, but we can also guess that Google and LG did not expect that the demand for the smartphone would be so high. Either way, the LG Google Nexus 4 will be on sale with Virgin from this week onwards.
