Four new Lumia Windows Phones will be making the trip from Finland to Barcelona with Nokia for Mobile World Congress at the end of the month, including a Lumia 520 and Lumia 720.
According to a chap called Alan Mendelevich, who runs a Windows cross-promotion site called Adduplex, four new Nokia smartphones have been used to access his site recently. They go by the model numbers of RM-914, RM-885, RM-887 and RM-860.
It’s thought that RM-914 is the Nokia Lumia 520 and the RM-885 is the Nokia Lumia 720, but the other two are currently a mystery, even to those who are very familiar with Windows Phone and Nokia’s plans.
The 520 and 720 will of course join the highly praised Lumia 620 in replacing Nokia’s budget range that it launched for Windows Phone 7, consisting of the Lumia 510, 610 and 710. The new models will rock the latest Windows Phone 8 software as well as improved hardware and new designs.
The Lumia 520 is said to feature a 4-inch ‘Super Sensitive’ screen, which is the same tech we’ve seen on other Lumia handsets that allows the user to operate the screen with gloves on. It’s also thought to pack a 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a micro SD card slot and a 5 megapixel rear camera.
Moving on up the scale, the Lumia 720 will sport a larger 4.3-inch display and 6 megapixel camera on the back. We’re unsure just how likely a 6 megapixel camera is, as most manufacturers tend to stick with 5 or 8 megapixel sensors.
As for the other two unknown models; well, they could be the phones codenamed Catwalk and Laser. These two models are thought to be variants of other Lumia phones, slightly redesigned and exclusive to US mobile network Verizon Wireless.
As for that flagship EOS phone we’ve been hearing about, don’t expect to see it at MWC.
