Just hours before HTC’s official event, a high-resolution image of the HTC One smartphone has appeared. Previously known as the M7, the phone will become HTC’s flagship phone for 2013 to compete with the likes of the next iPhone and the Galaxy S4.
The image, leaked courtesy of nowhereelse.fr, shows that the phone will launch in both white and black – the latter being more of a grey/slate type colour, akin to that of the iPhone 5.
We’ve seen both colours leaked previously on their own, but this image shows both together and in multiple positions, looking very official and promotional material-esc.
The image also gives us our first real glimpse at the back of the phone – previous leaks have shown the front face only. We can see from the back that Beats Audio technology is present, as is a large rear camera sensor and LED flash.
We can also see a chrome-effect chamfer around the edges of the phone on the front – another very iPhone 5-esc design feature. Dual speakers are situated either side of the 4.7-inch HD display, as indicated by sets of micro-drilled holes.
HTC’s Sense 5 user interface is shown on both the homescreen and the video player app, with tile-like homescreen widgets taking cues from Windows Phone.
HTC is expected to reveal the HTC One at media events based in London and New York later today. We’ll be at the launch event, so stay tuned!
