LG looks set to try and dominate the Android smartphone market this year, and after revealing the new Optimus L II series of phones, it has teased possible F and V ranges.
A recent teaser video posted by the company flashes the letters L, G, V and F across the screen as we see a model clad in sunglasses posing for pictures. The company has already revealed the new Optimus L II lineup and the Optimus G Pro, so what could the V and F be hinting at?
Thankfully @evleaks is never far behind a rumour and has come up with the goods, revealing two new LG Android smartphones that are said to make up the company’s new ‘F range’. Following the naming strategy of the Optimus L series, we have the LG Optimus F7 (left) and the LG Optimus F5 (right).
Unfortunately specifications for both phones are yet to be unearthed, but we can see from the images that these look to be a little more premium than the recently revealed L II series. The design used in the Optimus F7 looks similar to the gigantic Optimus G Pro with a physical home button, whilst the Optimus F5 looks more like some of LG’s older handsets, sporting three illuminated touch buttons below the display.
So what about the remaining letter, V? That’s likely to represent LG’s existing Optimus Vu product, which is a super-sized smartphone akin to the Galaxy Note and Optimus G Pro. Perhaps the company is planning to launch a new model in the range, which we’ll probably see at MWC next week.
We’ll find out for certain what LG has planned when MWC kicks off on February 25th.
