Nokia’s newest additions to the Lumia family of Windows Phones, the Lumia 720 and Lumia 520, now have release dates and prices for the UK, thanks to our good friends at Clove Technology.
Starting off with the entry level Lumia 520, which replaces the previous Lumia 510, we have a price tag of £169.99. It’s a little pricier than we first thought when the device was first revealed earlier in the week at MWC 2013, but still cheaper than rival HTC’s cheapest Windows Phone offering, the Windows Phone 8S.
Sporting a 4-inch display, 5 megapixel camera, dual-core 1GHz processor and the latest Windows Phone 8 software, the Lumia 520 is set to become a serious contender for those looking for a smartphone on a budget.
At the higher end of the scale, the Lumia 720 is priced at £299 SIM-free from Clove. This handset slots into Nokia’s range between the impressive Lumia 620 and the Lumia 820, offering a mid-range option that’s still comparatively cheap to buy outright, or just low in price to pick up on a contract.
It features a slightly larger 4.3-inch display and 6.7 megapixel f/1.9 rear camera that Nokia says offers the best camera experience on a smartphone of this price. It too runs Windows Phone 8 along with Nokia’s host of impressive apps, including Nokia Drive and Nokia HERE Maps.
Both phones will be available from April 1st, but it may be worth shopping around for deals on pay as you go or contract with your network – these are SIM-free prices which tend to be a little higher as you get the privilege of using any SIM card you want.
