We are slowly counting down the days ’till Samsung’s Unpacked announcement event where we are all expecting Sammy to release the latest of its astronomically successful Galaxy S range of smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S4.
So as we count down the days more and more, bits of information are leaking online regarding just what the flagship (for Samsung and the Android OS) Galaxy S4 handset will come packing – both specifications and features-wise. Reports are today coming in that the S4 will utiliSe top of the range eye-tracking technology that will enable users to scroll through webpages without touching the screen.
Reports come from The New York Times, suggesting that the eye-tracking system will be a major feature of the smartphone and will track the user’s eye movements to perform actions such as paragraphs moving automatically to come into view when your eyes hit the end of a paragraph.
What’s more, the S4 is reportedly set to have a host of new software features that will work off the current Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS, with new and updated software including the latest TouchWiz UX and the eye-tracking tech being a part of Samsung’s ‘Natural’ deatures.
Furthermore, the NYT also reports on some leaked technical specifications where they say the Galaxy S4 will come with a huge 4.99-inch Full HD Super AMOLED screen running off a 1.8GHz Exynos 5 8-core processor and a 13-megapixel camera round the back for good measure. This matches up with the specifications revealed by a benchmark result earlier today.
We love the Samsung Galaxy S3 and have loved both its S2 and S predecessors, so to see what Samsung has to offer for 2013 is very exciting and the new eye-tracking system is looking to once again push the technology boundaries with its innovation.
Samsung will be taking to the stage on in New York City on 14 March and hopefully we will see something exciting and innovative with the usual Samsung style and flair.
