Smartphones are built for the internet, but unfortunately to get a decent amount of data to use, you have to shell out a fair bit. Orange is hoping to ease that pain for its pay as you go customers by giving away 1GB of free data with every £10 top-up.
The network has put Bacon on the beach to promote a summer of data giveaways, which to us sound like one of the best bargains around. A £10 top-up will score you 1GB of data to use for 30 days, plus of course the credit itself you’re buying.
In the adverts Kev fails to mention that this deal also includes 400 free texts to use for the month, which makes it even more of a veritable bargain. With that much free usage chucked in, we can see some Orange customers still carrying over a lot of their £10 credit into the next month!
Other networks of course offer free data add-ons and bundles with top-ups on pay as you go – for example, O2 is currently doubling the number of texts, minutes and data after 3 months. Orange’s new deal does however outstrip O2’s – £10 for 1GB and 400 texts on Orange compared to £20 for 2500 texts and 500MB of data on O2.
Will you be topping up on Orange this summer?
