Apple has released its sixth beta testing version of the incoming iOS 7 software to developers ahead of its suspected launch in September alongside the new iPhone 5S and the long rumoured iPhone 5C.
The Beta was released late Thursday evening for developers and will bring a few minor tweaks to the testing platform for Apple’s newest iOS version. The Beta testing is released for developers to test out the new software and for app developers to create and update their existing applications for the new software.
Apple states that the sixth version of the Beta software “contains bug fixes and improvements” in its usual mysterious way, but 9to5Mac has said that the sixth beta software fixes an issue with iTunes in the Cloud, Apple’s service that lets users stream and re-download items from multiple devices.
Beta testing is normally a pretty long process with most Betas from Apple taking at least 5 versions before the OS is released to the general public. This still doesn’t guarantee any “perfect software” situations as Apple has discovered in the past.
However, with more of an emphasis on iOS 7 as it’s possibly the biggest change to the mobile software since its inception, so Apple will be keen to get it right before it lands in users hands with the iPhone 5S.
With only a few weeks left until the suspected September 10th release date, this 6th version of the software is expected to be the last.
