World Wrestling Entertainment has announced that it’s long talked about network will finally be launching in the United States on February 24th, starting in the United States and set to be introduced to the UK and Europe later in the year.
The WWE Network will become available on a number of platforms including Android and Apple iOS smartphones and tablets, PC and Mac, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One plus more. The platform will provide hours of live and on-demand streaming content video and interactive content for grapple fans.
In the ‘ground-breaking’ announcement made by on-screen and real-life chairman Vince McMahon this week, WWE, one of the leading social media savvy entertainment companies, revealed that subscribers to the $9.99 per month service will receive access to a massive archive of wrestling events spanning from the first Wrestlemania featuring stars such as Hulk Hogan and Mr T through to modern innovative spectacles such as Elimination Chamber and Money in the Bank with modern heroes the likes of John Cena and CM Punk.
As WWE owns the bulk of content from former rivals WCW and ECW’s past events, promotions will also be on offer alongside regular weekly shows Raw, Smackdown and NXT with original and exclusive programming including reality show Legends House. These shows will be slam-packed with interactive features through the currently available WWE app.
The WWE Network is exciting news for wrestling fans of all ages and with a potential to stream across a multitude of popular devices the WWE looks to further its world wrestling dominance.
