Earlier this week at Mobile World Congress LG unveiled to the world their new F70 and F90 smartphones. Both of these phones are aimed at the mid-range smartphone market, but don’t be dismayed though as they both come with some of latest smartphone features.
The F70 and F90 both include LTE (Long Term Evolution) also commonly referred to as 4G which up until now is unprecedented in a mid-range smartphone. Both will be powered by Google’s latest latest Android KitKat OS and come with LG’s new Knock feature which allows users to power on and unlock their smartphone by tapping a personalised pattern on the phone’s screen, even when it’s in standby.
The F70 features a 4.5-inch WVGA IPS display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM. It contains 4GB of inbuilt storage capacity which can be increased by up to 32GB with the use of a micro SD memory card. The device is loaded with a 5-megapixel auto-focus rear-camera and a VGA front-facing camera and has a 2,440 mAh battery.
The more powerful F90 features a larger 4.7-inch display that baosts a HD resolution of 960 x 540. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor along with 1GB of RAM. The device contains 4GB of internal storage capacity, which like the F70 can be increased using a micro SD card. The device boasts a better 8-megapixel rear camera and again a VGA front-facing camera and has a 3,000 mAh battery to cope with the larger screen which will drain more power.
No prices or availability information has been announced for the UK yet.
