In the space of a day, we have now had a leaked image and some specifications for the incoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S device, and shortly after the leak Samsung themselves have announced a “Galaxy Premiere 2014” event for June the 12th which we suspect will be the launching ground for the Galaxy Tab S.
The invites come with the slogan “Tab into colour” which confirms our assumptions, and invites press to the event in New York City where a new range of Tablets, in varying colours, will likely be announced.
Now back to leaked image, which came before the invites, making it somewhat mooted. However we did get some reasonable spec’s leaked with the news which suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S will come with a 10.5-inch AMOLED screen with a 2560 x 1600 resolution, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a fingerprint scanner on board just like the Galaxy S5 smartphone.
The leaked image also shows that the Tab S’s design will mimic the Galaxy S5’s too. Previous reports on the Tab S have also suggested that a smaller Galaxy Tab S will also be available in an 8.4-inch size variant featuring an octa-core Exynos 5 processor with four 1.9GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores along with 3GB of RAM.
We could assume that the larger 10.5 inch model would have the same processor and RAM as well, if not a slightly better one. Further to this there is a rumour of a third device, sized at a whopping 13.3 inches with a AMOLED Screen making the 10.5 the flagship Tab S.
None of this is official yet, but with June 12th fast approaching, we can expect to see Samsung’s premium line of Android Tablets in the next month, and if the invites are anything to go by, we will see them in lots of different colours.
