With all of these high-end, high-spec smartphones being released here there and everywhere, it leaves little choice for the people who don’t want to splash out hundreds of pounds on what is essentially a mini computer. This is why budget smartphones are a god send! They do the basics and a lot of them do it very well – hence why later this month Google are set to announce the first in their line of budget smartphones using its Android One system.

The line of budget smartphones is aimed primarily at developing countries such as India, where they will be holding the announcement event on September 15th.
Google aren’t the only producers said to use the Android One system. Several devices from Indian OEM’s such as Karbonn, Spice and Micromax are also set to make an appearance at the event.

Android One makes the cost of developing smartphones much lower than it would be originally by providing a stock version of the Android OS. OEM’s can then customise it, making the whole process much cheaper and affordable for the end user. It also introduces Android OS to otherwise unsaturated markets; but we won’t mention that.
The Android One initiative was first introduced back in June as an idea to allow customers, who are new to the smartphone world, to be able to afford high-quality devices and not feel alienated by the high prices inundating the market these days.
These budget smartphones are designed to be pocket friendly; because of this smartphones running Android One are said to cost around $100 and are also rumoured to be released worldwide…eventually.
