iPhone 6 leaks have been here, there and everywhere, but none have been stated as being the real deal; Until now. Taiwanese actor/ professional race car driver Jimmy Lin has got hold of one of the notorious iPhone 6’s and an Apple source has confirmed it’s no phoney.
It was the same Jimmy Lin who leaked the iPhone 5C last year, so we can pretty much say that this is genuine.

The iPhone 6 itself is only a Beta version so isn’t the finished product yet. These Beta versions were sent out to several facilities around the world, Lin’s included.
The Hong Kong media have verified the legitimacy of the photos showing the iPhone 6 and also stated that it will have a QHD display on the larger version of the handset rather than on the 4.7 inch version as well; mainly because it’s too small for a 2560 x 1600 resolution display. Although this is just speculation.

Traditionally Apple seem to take baby steps when it comes to upgrading their hardware, possibly to get more models out of it; because of this it would be uncharacteristic to jump from a retina display straight to QHD. That said if they’re planning on being in with a fighting chance of competing with the likes of Samsung and LG, they’re going to need to pull some tricks out of the bag.
Everything remains speculation until it is officially released, so we’ll have to wait until September for any definitive specifications.
