If rumours are to be believed, then Samsung could be working on a new metal framed Galaxy smartphone – the Galaxy Alpha.
As the name suggests, it is to be the first in the new line of metal framed handsets. The Alpha will feature a 4.7 inch screen but still keeping the faux leather finish of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Note 3 despite the metallic construction and aluminium sides.

Appearance-wise, the edges of the Alpha are more squared than that of the S5; making it more comparable to the Note 3 in terms of looks. It has been mentioned by SamMobile, who leaked the handset, that it will, however, be closer in specification to the S5.
The Galaxy Alpha is designed to be a diluted version of the S5, but still better than the S5 Mini. Samsung have tried to keep, if not enhance the premium look and feel of the device by keeping the faux leather back and increasing the quality with the metal chassis.

The Galaxy Alpha is said to feature the same screen as the Galaxy S3 but it isn’t clear if this is limited to the resolution or the screen type as well. It uses a nano SIM and will also include a fingerprint scanner and 32GB of internal storage with no expandable memory. Sorry. There is also said to be a LTE-A 4G variant being released also in conjunction.
Again, if rumours are to be true, the Galaxy Alpha is expected to be released around August; just in time to take on the iPhone 6 in September. Clever move Samsung.
