Gamers will soon get to return to the uber-spooky town of Silent Hill as a new game will be released for PS4 under the creative watch of veteran games creator Hideo Kojima and monster movie maker Guillermo Del Toro and which the lead role played by Norman Reedus.
This killer combination brings the creator of Metal Gear Solid, the director and creature designer behind Hellboy, Pacific Rim and new TV show The Strain together with The Walking Dead’s most popular star into the new Silent Hill game which marks a fifteen year legacy of terror and the game will simply be called Silent Hills (yes, plural.)
A demo for Silent Hills has already been launched on the Sony Entertainment store under the name P.T., which is now understandably an abbreviation for “Playable Teaser” and the short interactive scene involves a creepy setting to be explored and some really eerie sequences, ultimately revealing the identity of the games lead – none other than Daryl Dixon actor Reedus.
Many gamers remember the very first for the original PlayStation which had us s**ting ourselves on those dark nights, walking through the fog in the opening scene at the mercy of any of the towns bizarre and deadly inhabitants. Silent Hill was a game changer for survival horror spawning two films and the throwing in Del Toro as a creative force behind Silent Hills offers the potential to return the franchise to its gory glory days.
With Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami’s The Evil Within looking hellishly impressive on PS4 and Xbox One set for release in October, and now Silent Hills, a revival of true survival horror looks like it’s closing in on the next generation consoles.
