Acer’s Iconia Tab 7-inch has been given a UK pricing of £299.99 by Amazon, putting it in direct competition with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi.
For your hard-earned £300, you’ll get a 7-inch Android Honeycomb (3.0) tablet which runs on a Dual-Core Nvidia Tegra 2 chip, features 8GB of onboard storage, 512MB of RAM, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
Comparing the Iconia Tab to the sub-£300 Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi, you get a much faster processor and a more up-to-date Operating System in the form of Android Honeycomb, though you do get half the onboard storage at 8GB.
Amazon have also priced up two other Iconia Tabs, the first being the A101 – a 3G variant of the A100 Tab mentioned above. The specs are identical save for a 3G radio chip, which will cost you an extra £100 compared to the A100 Wi-Fi only model.
The Acer Iconia Tab A500 10.1-inch has also been listed at Amazon in Wi-Fi and 3G variants, with price tags of £449 and £529 respectively. The A500 is the daddy of the Iconia Tab family, packing the same Dual-Core Tegra 2 chip, 1GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and of course Android Honeycomb.
All of the new Iconia Tabs are scheduled for a release on 20th April according to Amazon, with pre-orders being taken now.
