The HTC One (M8) is now on sale across the UK, but one thing has been slightly missing from the launch and pre announcement of the newest android device, the leaked Gold version of the HTC One.
Well, its good news for us in the UK, as the Carphone Warehouse has announced that they will be getting the “Amber Gold” (Yes that sounds like a hillbilly’s name!), version of the HTC One M8 exclusively in its stores from today onwards.
Now we have known that a Gold version of the New HTC One would be coming before the handset was even officially announced, thanks to some leaked professional photos form serial leakers @Evleaks on Twitter. It just confirms that gold, apparently, is the hottest colour for all smartphone manufacturers, which is yet another trend we can thank Apple for.

The HTC One (M8) in Amber Gold will only be available at Carphone Warehouse stores, and the where you can pick up the phone from £38 with a £49 upfront cost or free from £42 per month.
Other than the premium hue, nothing else changes about the HTC One M8 Amber Gold edition, it’s still the excellent Android 4.4 running smartphone that has a 5-inch Full HD display which boasts a 1920 x 1080 1080p resolution display 440 PPI, the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 processor, Duo rear Cameras with LED flash and Full HD recording with the latest HTC Sense 6 interface.
Other colours available through non CPW companies are “Glacial Silver” and “Gunmetal Grey”, for the moment, but the Gold editions will be coming in the next few months through other suppliers. Phone4U already have a pre order page available on their website, with a “in the coming weeks” delivery promise.
Until then, there may be a Gold rush on at Carphone Warehouse.
