Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Arriving Now on HTC Sensation Range Claims German Source

The wait is almost over for Android version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for European HTC Sensation owner’s who sadly weren’t in luck when the “Early Access Preview” updates were dished out a couple weeks ago. It’s been reported by German source HTC Inside that the official software has starting hitting the sensational line-up from today.

If true, those patient enough to not be tempted by the ROM we hooked you up with a few days back should soon receive notification to be able to receive the tasty new upgrades to Google’s mobile operating software, which is ready for your HTC device and the German site excitedly broke the news a short time ago: “It’s time! Finally the wait is over! Effective immediately, the Android 4.0 update Ice Cream Sandwich, which also includes HTC Sense 3.6, the HTC Sensation and HTC Sensation XE officially delivered! Our sensation XE has just received the update message. The package is being downloaded and installed!” – this translated from the original language post.

We previously broke the news that due to hardware restrictions the latest Android co-pilot HTC Sense 4.0 will not be included in the Sensation update, instead replaced by a slimmed down version which actually appears to be an upgrade on version 3.0. The heavyweight Android ICS software comes in at 283.27MB and you can check if yours is ready right now by opening your HTC Sensation, Sensation XE or Sensation XL’s Settings menu, Selecting Phone Info, and then Software Updates.

Gadget Helpline eagerly awaits Android 4.0 on our HTC Sensation hardware, and now the Germans are reporting theirs has arrived, we expect word to emerge from UK owners that the same is happening here within the coming days (if not hours!)
