After topping the charts with latest adventure Angry Birds Space reaching 10-million downloads in just one week, the popular characters are set to bash their way into yet another dimension – this time in a regular animated series which was just announced by the game’s developer Rovio and will be presented as short episodes that will be coming to television, as part of the company’s plan to get the Angry Birds “on all screens”.
Rovio’s head of animation, Nick Dorra commented on the much-rumoured Angry Birds movie which he suggests will not be ready until at least 2013, but revealed until then a new cartoon series will run as 52 two-and-a-half to three minute episodes, like the ones that accompany the play on our favourite app based mobile game series and these episode would allow us to see “deeper thoughts, deeper feelings of the characters, such as why are they always angry?”
It’s an interesting approach and we’re interested to see how our beloved feathery friends will translate into a regular storylined animated series. Will they perhaps even get voices to speak the reason why they are so aggrieved?
We’d like to know what our readers think – Do the Angry Birds really need emotional depth?? Or would you rather see them at the pig bashing fortress smashing best?! Let us know your thoughts on our comments below or via our @Gadget_Helpline Twitter page or Official Facebook group.
