Three UK have announced an exclusive partnership with Google, making them the first UK network to be an official “Connectivity Partner” with the new Chromebook laptops from Acer and Samsung.
Being a connectivity partner, Three will be supplying 3G connectivity to customers who purchase either the Acer Chromebook or the Samsung Series 5 Chromebook. As yet we don’t know if Three will be stocking both Chromebooks or just one, and details on contract pricing with them is scarce.
Three’s David Kerrigan blogged: “Today at the annual Google I/O developer conference in San Francisco, Google unveiled Chromebooks, a range of new computers built and optimised for the web.
Three is delighted that we’ve been selected as the 3G connectivity partner for the Chromebook launch in the UK. We’ll have more details to share in the next few weeks so stay tuned.”
We’ll keep you posted on which the price points and deals Three comes up with for the forthcoming Chromebooks as soon as we hear it. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts on the new Google Chromebook laptops, will you be getting one? Leave us a comment.
