Apple has eyes on home gaming market with AirPlay Mirroring

  • by
One of the best features of the iPhone 4S, and of iOS itself, from last night’s Apple briefing was AirPlay Mirroring, but it seemed to slip under the radar for most. The system will let anyone with Apple TV wirelessly stream the content of their iPhone 4S or iPad 2 screen to their TV.

Both the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 now boast the Apple A5 dual-core processor, which provides game graphics almost on par with today’s consoles. If Apple is now opening the door to let you play these games on a home screen, who’s to say they’re not planning to launch a wireless, Apple TV-compatible games controller?

This is merely conjecture at the moment, but we’d keep an eye on where this mirroring goes as time goes on, as home gaming may be about to enter Apple’s list of priorities for the first time ever. Let us know your thoughts on our comments below or via our @Gadget_Helpline Twitter page or Official Facebook group.
