Apple iOS 5.1 Beta reveals potential iPhone 5, iPad 3 and new Apple TV?

Earlier today we reported on the latest rumours surrounding the forthcoming Apple iPhone 5 and iPad 3, with information surfacing this week about the size and type of screens that Apple plans to use in its future products.

Apple has also released its Beta developer build for a new software update, iOS 5.1, for the new iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Apple TV products. Deep within the code, developers have found new references to some new (possibly) future devices.

The biggest of them all noted is a secret code for a new ‘iPhone5,1’ device, which indicates that Apple are indeed still preparing a new updated version of its mega selling smartphone that we all expected to be released back in September.

The leaked information comes from Mac lovers 9to5Mac, who have an unprecedented knowledge of Apple products. Their delvings have shown that the Beta has the iPhone 4S identified as the ‘4,1’ in the code with an additional ‘iPhone5,1’ following this.

On top of the iPhone info, the Beta also states a list of iPad devices referred to as the ‘2,4’, ‘3,1’, ‘3,2’ and ‘3,3’ which outstretches the initial two device line-up of the iPad and iPad 2. We are expecting the iPad with the code 2,4 to be a new iPad 2 for U.S network Sprint, and the 3,1 and 3,2 could be WiFi and 3G versions of the forthcoming iPad 3.

Finally, the Beta code also refers to a newer version of Apple TV, as the code also references to a new device coded ‘J33’. This newer version could be the long awaited Full HD 1080p video playback options to the Apple TV boxes.

Now though this information comes directly from official Apple software, we are making assumptions on which products the code numbers relate to. As we all know with Apple, you can never tell what they are working on next until they want you to know, so this could all be an elaborate ruse to fool those pesky beta snitches!

Either way you can see the recent Apple related rumours once again firing up the (seemingly) never-ending rumour mill again.
