Apple iPad 2 available from March 25th, entry model will cost £399

Apple have confirmed that the new iPad 2 will be available to buy in the UK on March 25th, and have also dropped the price of the 16GB WiFi only model by £40.

The iPad 2 was released in the US on March the 11th to much fanfare, though online orders have been plagued by 4-5 week delays due to the earthquake in Japan affecting production.

“iPad 2 with Wi-Fi will be available in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK on March 25” said Apple in a press statement released earlier today.

Apple today also announced that all models of iPad 2 will be available in Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore and additional countries in April, though no exact date has been specified as of yet.

While we initially understood that the iPad 2 would be priced the same as the original, it seems that Apple have dropped the price of the entry level 16GB WiFi only model by £40. The prices for all 6 models are as follows:

– £399 for the  Wi-Fi only 16GB model

– £479 for the Wi-Fi only 32GB model

– £559 for the Wi-Fi 64GB model

– £499 for the Wi-Fi and 3G 16GB model

– £579 for the Wi-Fi and 3G 32GB model

– £659 for the Wi-Fi and 3G 64GB model
